Fred Zinneman
Zinneman, Fred (1907–97), film director and winner of Academy Awards for That Mothers Might live (1938), From Here to Eternity (1953), and A Man for All Seasons (1966). Zinneman studied film making in France before moving to the United States in 1929. Other works include High Noon (1952) and The Nun's Story (1958). In 1992 his autobiography A Life in the Movies was published.
