Alexander I



Alexander I (1888–1934), king of Yugoslavia from 1921 to 1934. Yugoslavia, which has been formed as a country in 1918, was home to several peoples, including Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes. To ensure Serb dominance, Alexander declared himself dictator in 1929. He was assassinated by a Croatian terrorist in 1934.
