Cuernavaca
Cuernavaca (pop. 281,700), capital of the state of Morelos in south central Mexico. Founded in 1521 by Hernando Cortez, the city is an agricultural and industrial center. Local crops include corn, beans, and wheat. Bottling plants and flour and textile mills are among its industries. The semitropical climate and beautiful scenery have made the city a popular resort.
