Cypress

Cypress, family of cone-bearing trees, including arborvitae, juniper, and cedar. They have fragrant wood and small, scalelike leaves. Cypresses grow in North America, Europe, and Asia. Red cedar is used for pencils, chests, and closets and white cedar for fencing, shingles, and boats. The bald cypress, which is not a true cypress but kin of the sequoia, often grows in water.
