Dextrose
Dextrose, chemical name for pure glucose sugar. It is produced commercially by subjecting starch to a pressurized heating process that converts it into a solid form of glucose. The final product usually takes the form of fine white granules. Dextrose is used to bake candy and pastries and as a base in high-fructose corn syrup, a soft-drink sweetener.
