(Paul Marie Théodore) Vincent D'lndy
D'lndy, (Paul Marie Théodore) Vincent (1851–1931), French composer. A pupil of Cesar Franck and cofounder (1894) of the Schola Cantorum academy in Paris, he admired the German classics and Renaissance polyphony and urged a renovated French style derived from folk idioms. His works include Symphony on a French Mountain Air (1886).
