Dogwood

Dogwood, or cornel, name for any tree or shrub of the genus Cornus. The bunchberry (C. canadensis) is a herbaceous wildflower, and the flowering dogwood (C. florida) is a small tree. Some dogwoods are grown as ornamental plants.
