Dolomites
Dolomites, mountain range in the eastern Alps, northeastern Italy. The mountains are composed mainly of vividly colored dolomitic limestone. The highest peak is Marmolada (10,965 ft/3,342 m). The Dolomites are a popular tourist and climbing resort. The region's main center is Cortina d'Ampezzo.
