Don Juan



Don Juan, legendary libertine of Spain, often the subject of dramatic and literary works in which, after a dissolute life, he is led off to hell. The earliest-known dramatization is Tirso de Molina's The Rake of Seville (1630). Other versions are by Molière, W.A. Mozart (Don Giovanni), Byron, and G.B. Shaw (Man and Superman).
