James Harold Doolittle
Doolittle, James Harold (1896– ), U.S. pilot and World War II air hero. Famous as a racing pilot in the 1920s and early 1930s, he led the first air raid on Tokyo on April 18, 1942, thereby slowing the Japanese offensive. After the war he was an executive in the aerospace industry.
