Dun Laoghaire
Dún Laoghaire, seaport town on the east coast of Ireland, 7 mi (11 km) southeast of Dublin. Dun Laoghaire was named in 1920 after an Irish king who lived in the 400s. Once a fishing village, it grew into a large residential town serving Dublin after the construction of a harbor was begun in 1817.
