Epidemiology

Epidemiology, study of epidemics, diseases that affect large numbers of people. Epidemiology uses statistical and other methods to discover the cause of a disease, determine the elements affecting rate of incidence and degree of severity, and establish the means of control. AIDS is one of the most devastating epidemies in the 1980s and 1990s.
