Till Eulenspiegel

Eulenspiegel, Till, Brunswick trickster hero of a group of German tales originally published 1515. His pranks demonstrated peasant cunning triumphing over establishment figures of his day. He was the subject of a tone poem by Richard Strauss in 1895.
