Chris(tine) Evert

Evert, Chris(tine) (1954– ), U.S. tennis player. Known for her strong two-handed backhand, she set a record by winning 4 consecutive U.S. Opens (1975–1978); she won again in 1980 and 1982. Evert also captured 3 Wimbledon titles (1974, 1976, 1981) and 2 Australian Opens (1982, 84).
