Excalibur

Excalibur, in Arthurian legend, the name of King Arthur's sword. In Thomas Malory's 15th-century version, Arthur came into possession of the sword as a boy, when he alone was able to remove it from the stone in which it was lodged. In another version of the legend, the sword was given to Arthur by the Lady of the Lake.
