Sherman Mills Fairchild



Fairchild, Sherman Mills (1896–1971), U.S. inventor of aerial mapping photography. Already the inventor of several cameras, he developed his Fairchild Flight Analyzer Camera in 1953. The first camera capable of taking distortion-free aerial pictures in a continuous sequence of action, it has been used to track guided missiles and to study takeoffs and landings of missiles and planes.
