Faruk I

Faruk I, or Farouk I (1920–65), king of Egypt (1936–52). He was considered weak and incompetent, and his rule was marked by corruption, alienation of the military, and many internal rivalries. This led to a military coup by Gamal Abdal Nasser, which forced Faruk's abdication.
