Robert Joseph Flaherty
Flaherty, Robert Joseph (1884–1951), U.S. pioneer documentary filmmaker. He is chiefly famous for Nanook of the North (1922), a study of Eskimo life, and Man of Aran (1934), about life on the Aran Islands of Ireland.
