Ian Lancaster Fleming
Fleming, Ian Lancaster (1908–64), British author and creator of the James Bond series of spy thrillers. His novels, which won international fame, include Casino Royale (1953) and Goldfinger (1959). In the late 1920s and early 1930s Fleming worked as a journalist in Moscow. During World War II he did espionage work for British Naval Intelligence.
