E(ward) M(organ) Forster



Forster, E(ward) M(organ) (1879–1970), English writer and critic, whose works reflected his sharp wit and graceful style. His most famous novels are Howards End (1910) and A Passage to India (1924), which illustrate Forster's interest in personal relationships and the racial and psychological impediments to these relationships. His other works include Where Angels Fear to Tread (1905), The Longest Journey (1907), A Room with a View (1908), and Maurice (1913–14).
