Fox terrier
Fox terrier, breed of small dog developed in England in the mid-1800s to flush out foxes during hunts. It measures about 15 in (38 cm) at the shoulder and weighs about 18 lb (8 kg). Two separate breeds have been developed: the wire fox terrier, with a rough, wiry white coat, often with black and brown patches, and the smooth fox terrier, with similar coloring but a smooth coat.
