Daniel Chester French

French, Daniel Chester (1850–1931), U.S. sculptor. He is best known for his monumental statuary, such as his first work, The Minute Man (1875), in Concord, Mass., and the seated Lincoln (1922) in the Lincoln Memorial, Washington, D.C.
