Henry Clay Frick



Frick, Henry Clay (1849–1919), U.S. industrialist and art collector. He started a business in coke (coal byproduct used in metal refining) in 1868, and in 1882 he became an associate of Andrew Carnegie, managing his steel company 1889–99. He bequeathed his extensive art collection, housed in his New York mansion, to the public as a museum.
