Gannet



Gannet (Morus bassanus), large, white seabird of the North Atlantic. It nests on isolated islands, as in the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the British Isles, and feeds on fish that it catches by spectacular vertical dives into the sea. Related species are found off South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.
