Gettysburg

Gettysburg (pop. 7,025), town in Pennsylvania and seat of Adams County, situated near the Maryland border, about 36 mi (58 km) southwest of Harrisburg. Gettysburg is a noted tourist attraction as the site of the Civil War Battle of Gettysburg and of President Abraham Lincoln's famous Gettysburg Address. The Gettysburg National Military Park contains many Civil War monuments. President Dwight D. Eisenhower made his home at Gettysburg.
