Giraudoux, (Hippolyte) Jean (1882–1944), French playwright. Known for his imaginative, satirical dramas, his major works include Tiger at the Gates (1935) and Electra (1937), both based on Greek mythology, and The Mad-woman of Chaillot (1945).
