Golden retriever

Golden retriever, gold-colored, thick-coated hunting dog, originally bred in Scotland around 1870. The good-natured, intelligent animal has been used as a guide dog for the blind and as a family companion. Heights average 23 in (58 cm) at the shoulder and weights range from 55 to 75 lb (25 to 34 kg).
