Gorgon

Gorgon, in Greek mythology, term for 3 hideous winged and snake-haired sisters—Stheno, Euryale, and Medusa—who turned anyone who looked at them to stone. Medusa, the youngest Gorgon and the only mortal one, was killed by Perseus.
