Louis Moreau Gottschalk

Gottschalk, Louis Moreau (1829–69), U.S. composer and pianist, internationally celebrated as a virtuoso. Influenced by the Creole and black rhythms of his native New Orleans, his compositions include Tremolo Étude, Bamboula, and The Last Hope.
