Gynecology, branch of medicine and surgery specializing in disorders of the female reproductive tract; often linked with obstetrics, which specializes in pregnancy and childbirth. Gynecology deals with contraception, abortion, sterilization, infertility, abnormalities of menstruation, and diseases of reproductive organs.
