Halibut
Halibut, any of various fish of the family Hippoglossidae. Halibuts are flatfish, living in cold water and having both eyes on one side of its body. The largest Atlantic halibuts (Hippoglossus hippoglossus) can reach lengths of 12 ft (3.6 m) and can weigh as much as 700 lb (317.5 kg), living as long as 40 years. They are important commercial fishes and are caught in North Atlantic and North Pacific waters by trawling or on long lines. Halibut liver oil was once an important source of vitamin A.
