Henequen

Henequen, fiber made from the henequen plant. The leaves of the henequen, a plant that grows on the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico, consist of tough yellow fibers that are separated by machine and then dried to make twine and rope. Mexico is the only important producer of this fiber.
