Herbicide

Herbicide, chemical compound used to kill plants. Selective herbicides kill only weeds. Nonselective ones are used to clear land of plant life. Many of these chemicals are dangerous to human and animal life and must be used with great care. One of the more deadly herbicides in recent history was Agent Orange, a defoliant used by the U.S. during the Vietnam War. It is responsible for serious illnesses among veterans and their offspring.
