Hermes of Praxiteles

Hermes of Praxiteles, statue of Hermes, messenger of the gods in Greek mythology, created by the Athenian sculptor Praxiteles in 330 B.C. It portrays Hermes holding his infant brother Dionysus and offering him grapes. The original statue was lost, but a copy was made by the Greek sculptor Pasiteles c.100 B.C.
