Thomas Wentworth Higginson



Higginson, Thomas Wentworth (1823–1911), U.S. pastor, abolitionist, and author. His liberal ideas cost him his first Unitarian church post. In the Civil War he was colonel of the first black regiment. He edited Emily Dickinson's Poems (1890–91) with M.L. Todd.
