Homeopathy

Homeopathy, system of treating disease by administering small doses of a drug that would cause a healthy person to have the symptoms of the disease under treatment. Homeopathy takes a holistic approach, claiming to treat the physical, emotional, and mental states of the patient at once. Homeopathy was introduced in the West by the German doctor Samuel Hahnemann (1755–1843), author of the controversial Organon of the Art of Healing.
