Homicide

Homicide, killing of a human being by another. Criminal homicide is classified as either murder or manslaughter. Some homicides are determined to be excusable or justifiable, based on such circumstances as self-defense. Sentencing for homocide varies between U.S. states, some of which consider it a capital offense.
