(James) Langston Hughes
Hughes, (James) Langston (1902–67), African-American poet and writer. He is best known for adapting the rhythms of African-American music to his poetry. His works include the poetry collections The Weary Blues (1926), and One-Way Ticket (1949), and the prose Not Without Laughter (1930).
