Bobby Hull

Hull, Bobby (Robert Marvin Hull; 1939– ), Canadian ice hockey player. Thought to be the greatest left wing in the history of the sport, he ranks as the fifth highest goal scorer (610) in National Hockey League (NHL) history and was selected as an all-star 9 times. Hull was nicknamed the “Golden Jet” because of his blond hair, his speed, and the power of his shots, which at times traveled at 110 mph (177 kph). In 1974–75 Hull set a World Hockey Association (WHA) single season record by scoring 77 goals while playing for the Winnipeg Jets (1972–78). He starred for the Chicago Black Hawks (1957–72) and Hartford Whalers (1980) of the NHL. Hull retired in 1981, and in 1983 was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
