Hurdling

Hurdling, track and field sport in which runners jump over obstacles called hurdles, which stand at specific heights and are set equal distances apart on the track. Runners adjust their stride and bring one leg over the hurdle at a time to clear hurdles without breaking stride. Hurdles may be knocked down, but disqualification occurs if done so by runner's hand.
