Hydrochloric acid, chemical compound (HCL) with many industrial uses. A colorless, extremely corrosive liquid that fumes when exposed to air, it is used in metallurgy and food processing. It is produced naturally in the human stomach as a digestive aid, but stomach ulcers can form if it is present in excess.
