Robert Joffrey

Joffrey, Robert (1930–88), U.S. dancer and choreographer. His company, the Robert Joffrey Theater Dancers, was founded in 1954. By 1976, when it became the Joffrey Ballet, it was one of the most highly regarded of U.S. companies. The touring Joffrey II Company was formed in 1970 to develop young dancers.
