Book of Judges

Judges, Book of, in the Old Testament, 7th of the Authorized Version, the sequel to Joshua. It recounts the Hebrews' successive apostasies from God and their punishment by enemy oppression. The judges were mainly military leaders sent by God to deliver the people. The main judges are Barak, Deborah, Gideon, Abimelech, Jephthah, and Samson.
