Billie Jean King

King, Billie Jean (Billie Jean Moffitt; 1943– ), U.S. tennis player. She was a prominent figure in the international game, whose efforts have done much to improve the status of women in tennis. Kings achievements include winning the U.S. Open 4 times (1967,71,72,74), Wimbledon 6 times (1966, 67, 68, 72, 73, 75), and the Australian Open and French Open once (1968, 1972).
