Neil Gordon Kinnock



Kinnock, Neil Gordon (1942– ), British politician, elected youngest Labour Party leader in 1983 at the age of 41. Known for his left-wing views and fervent public speaking skills, Kinnock has strived to promote unity between the party's left-wing and moderate factions in the area of policy. In 1993 he was succeeded by John Smith. Kinnock became a member of the European Commission in 1994.
