Knitting machine



Knitting machine, manufacturing device for knitting fabrics ranging from delicate lace to rugs, invented by the Englishman William Lee in 1589. The 2 main types of machines are weft, which produces fabric that stretches elastically, and warp, with lengthwise stitches that produce a flat, less elastic fabric.
