Zoltán Kodály



Kodály, Zoltán (1882–1967), Hungarian composer and, with Béla Bartók, an ardent researcher of Hungarian folk music. Folk influences are evident in such works as the cantata Psalmus Hungaricus (1923), the opera Háry János (1926), and the orchestral “Peacock” Variations (1938–9).
