Lake Ladoga

Lake Ladoga, lake in northwest Russia, about 40 mi (64 km) northeast of Leningrad. At 6,835 sq mi (17,703 sq km), Lake Ladoga is the largest in Europe. It forms part of a canal system connecting the Baltic and White Seas.
