Lake Poets
Lake Poets, name given to the English poets William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and Robert Southey, who lived in the Lake District for a time. The critic Francis Lord Jeffrey was first to characterize them as constituting the “Lake school of poetry,” although the 3 friends do not form a group stylistically.
