Lake Volta



Lake Volta, one of the largest human-made reservoirs in the world, in Ghana, West Africa. Created by the construction of the Akosombo Dam across the Volta River (1965), it is 250 mi (400 km) long and covers 3,275 sq mi (8,482 sq km). Water from the lake is used to produce electric power.
